All prefects have different levels of authority. Only the Head Prefect and Senior Prefects can give simple punishment to students offending school rules. All Prefects should record offences, but in the case of students refusing to listen to or submit their Student ID Cards to School Prefects, the Head Prefect should be informed.

The Head Prefect has the highest authority among all Prefects. He will be directly responsible to the Discipline Master and discipline teachers. Record forms will be collected from Senior Prefects and School Prefects every other week, and he shall keep a central record of all student offences. His authority includes:

1.     Monitoring the duties of all prefects.

2.     Demanding any student to wear his uniform properly.

3.     Punishing any student who has offended any school rule when immediate action has to be taken.

4      Demanding any student to submit his Student ID Card for recording down offences in the Discipline Record Form.

5.     Demanding any student who has offended any school rule to stand at a certain place, when the case has to be reported to the Discipline Master or teachers.

6.     Performing prefect duties outside school:

- Demanding students to wear their uniform properly.

- Confiscation of items such as cigarettes.

- Give warnings on actions that affect school reputation.

7.      Confiscating forbidden materials that belong to students*.

*Confiscated materials should be handed to the Discipline Master who will handle the case.

The Senior Prefects have a high authority to maintain discipline, serving as suitable decision-makers when the Head Prefect is not available. Senior Prefects will lead a group of School Prefects. They should make weekly reports to the Head Prefect, who will then report to the Discipline Master. Their authority includes:

1.     Demanding any student to wear his uniform properly.

2.     Punishing any student who has offended any school rule when immediate action has to be taken.

3.    Demanding any student to submit his Student ID Card for recording down offences in the Discipline Record Form.

4.     Demanding any student who has offended any school rule to stand at a certain place, when the case has to be reported to the Discipline Master or teachers.

5.     Performing prefect duties outside school:

- Demanding students to wear their uniform properly.

- Give warnings on actions that affect school reputation.

The School Prefects are in charge of inspection and assisting the Senior Prefects. They will stand at the school entrance to check students’ uniform, as well as the canteen to maintain order. If students commit an offence, the School Prefects should remind them of the school regulations. School Prefects should make sure all students have tidy uniform and neat appearance. All offences should be recorded down. School Prefects are directly responsible to the Senior Prefects of their group. If certain students disregard orders from School Prefects, they should inform the Senior Prefect and avoid any argument. Their authority includes:

1.     Requesting any student to wear his uniform properly.

2.    Requesting any student who offended school rules to see the Head Prefect or Senior Prefects.

3.    Requesting any student to submit his Student ID Card for recording down offences in the Discipline Record Form.

4.     Requesting any student to queue up again in the canteen.

The Class Prefects are mainly in charge of classroom discipline. They should avoid direct clash with other students. Therefore, class prefects should mainly observe, note down, and report to the Senior Prefects or School Prefects of their group. During special events, class prefects will also be required to work in their groups to maintain discipline. Class Prefects should be responsible for maintaining discipline inside the classroom when there is no teacher and take appropriate action if necessary. Their authority includes:

1.     Pointing out offences of their classmates directly.

2.     Pointing out the offence of school rules of any student.

3.     Noting down offences which will be handed to their Senior Prefect or School Prefects to write down in the Discipline Record Form.

4.     Requesting student who’ve offended school rules to see the Head Prefect.
